La Romana Shore Excursions for a Southeast Cruise Call

A southeast-coast call, not a second north-coast port

La Romana sits on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic. The ship comes into a working cruise terminal on the river, between the town and the Casa de Campo estate. From there the day opens in different directions: stay nearer the terminal and the estate side, or spend the call on the water.

That geography is the planning point. Altos de Chavón is a cultural stop on the estate side of the map. Catalina Island is a reef-character island day. Saona Island is the longer beach-day idea, usually discussed with Bayahibe as the place boats leave from. Beaches are not a single named strip at the gangway. Casa de Campo is nearby as a resort estate; coming ashore does not put you inside it, and it does not include a marina berth for the ship.
